A new heating system, done right the first time
When your old heater can't keep up anymore, the fix should be simple: honest options, one final price, and an installation you never have to think about again. Every Barker install is backed by the Healthy Home Guarantee signed by the owner — never a change order.
When replacement is the honest answer
We fix heaters for a living, so we'll always tell you when a repair is enough. These are the signs it isn't.
It's 10–15 years old
Heating systems have a shelf life. Past the 10–12 year mark, performance drops and each repair buys less time than the last.
Repairs two or three times a year
Frequent service calls add up fast — sometimes to the cost of a new, more reliable system. That's money better spent going forward, not backward.
High energy costs
An inefficient heater is expensive to run all winter, every winter. Modern systems recover part of their cost in the utility bill alone.
Cold spots and swings
If some rooms never warm up or temperatures fluctuate all day, the system can no longer keep up with your home.
Five promises, in writing
Every Barker installation is backed by the Healthy Home Guarantee — five promises that cover the whole journey, not fine print.
1. The Balance Guarantee
No living space more than 3°F from your thermostat setting — or we come back and fix the airflow at no charge. Ducts, dampers, registers, whatever it takes.
2. The No-Lemon Guarantee
If a compressor or heat exchanger fails from a manufacturing defect in the first 5 years, we replace the whole unit with new equipment — not one more patch.
3. The Straightforward Price Guarantee
The exact price up front, to the dollar. If we ever start work without quoting it first, that work is on us.
4. The Watchdog Tune-Up Guarantee
If your system breaks down within 6 months of a Barker tune-up, the full cost of that tune-up is credited toward the repair.
5. The 100% Satisfaction Guarantee
You get the final say. If you're not completely happy, call us and we make it right. Loyalty runs both ways.
Furnace, heat pump, or both?
Replacement day is the right moment to ask what should heat your home for the next 20 years. For some Tri-Valley homes that's a high-efficiency furnace; for many, a heat pump now makes the better case — one system that heats and cools, with California rebate programs that can help with the cost. We'll size your home properly, walk you through the honest trade-offs, and quote each option with one final number. Every replacement also includes a smart thermostat with remote monitoring, installed and configured before we leave.
Not sure the old system is done yet? Start with a repair visit — if fixing it makes more sense, that's what we'll tell you. And however you go, BFF members get early access to replacement specials worth up to $4,000.
Heating installation questions, answered plainly
How long does a heating installation take?
Most residential replacements are done in a day; more involved jobs (new ductwork, system conversions) can take longer. You'll know the timeline before we start, and it's part of the written quote.
What warranty comes with a new system?
Every installation is backed by the Healthy Home Guarantee — including the No-Lemon promise: if a compressor or heat exchanger fails from a manufacturing defect within 5 years, we replace the whole unit with new equipment. Manufacturer equipment warranties apply on top, and labor terms are spelled out in your agreement before you sign.
Can the price change once work starts?
No. "Never a change order" is a signed promise on every Barker installation. The quote you approve is the amount you pay.
Do you help with rebates?
Yes — if a heat pump is the right fit, California programs like TECH Clean California offer rebates, and we handle the navigation and paperwork with you.
