How Can a Damaged Air Conditioner Affect Your Home?

Many people know that their AC is damaged but believe that because it is still running, the problem can’t be THAT bad. Unfortunately, this is rarely the case. Oftentimes, a damaged AC can affect your home in more than one way:

  • Budget: many people have a budget that they aim to follow. A damaged AC will stretch that budget to the max by forcing you to pay higher energy costs
  • Mold: depending on the type of damage your AC has, it is possible for mold to begin to grow and infest your home
  • Comfort: even if your AC is ‘cooling’ your home, you will likely notice inconsistencies in temperature and humidity
  • Cleaning: you might find cleaning enjoyable but most people don’t. Damaged AC units are known for leaving dust and debris everywhere for the homeowner to clean

The Benefits of AC Replacement Services

When you’ve decided that you’ve had enough of damaged and broken AC systems or hot, humid rooms, you might be leaning toward a replacement. When you choose to replace your old AC with a new one and use a professional like Barker Heating & Cooling, you will see numerous benefits almost at once! Some of these include:

  • Lower electric bills
  • Less dust
  • Manufacturer’s & Installer’s Warranties

Your Reliable Cooling Contractors

The last thing you ever should do with a damaged AC is to ignore it. It can be difficult to make a call for help if it is still blowing cold air or if it seems like the problem isn’t ‘that bad.’ However, the longer you wait to fix the issue, the worse it will become. This is why Barker Heating & Cooling recommends regular maintenance but will stick to a flat-rate price when repairs are needed!

Two condenser on-site. Called for cooling on both systems and verified normal operations. Checked pressures on system outside the gate system has normal pressures for current outside temps. Capacitor is little under manufacture specs. Found top of cap is getting rusty which could prevent contact. Outdoor fan motor has oil. Checked pressures on system on the other side of house in shaded area. Checked pressures r22. System is low on refrigerant. Causing compressor to work harder. Capacitor is good but has a rust top. Fan motor amperage is good. Compressor amperage is above where it needs to be. Condenser coil is ok.

Performed spring maintenance on 2 2014 carrier ac condensers. The units are working decently. Home has solar and Tesla battery backups for brownouts/blackouts. Condensers each have sure start kits which are the proper version of a hard start kit to install when your home has solar and battery backups. Temp splits of both systems are 20 degrees. Capacitors are both in range, I did replace them last time I was here. Amp draws are all in range, fan motor/compressor/compressor start amps. Checked fan motor bearings, both outdoor fan motors bearings are okay. Changed client provided filters. Client had an issue with airflow in one room. The room in question will always have proper airflow in the summer and lesser airflow in the winter. When I climbed into the attic to look for the source I found that there is a large separating wall in the attic that makes that duct line inaccessible. I did see however, that there is plenty of space on the supply plenum to add an apco air purifier, I

Performed a complete diagnostic of the Carrier furnace located in an interior closet for one of our BFF members Fall Check-up. Cleaned the burners and furnace cabinet, tested all safety controls, tested gas pressure and furnace combustion, adjusted the airflow for proper temperature rise, and lubricated motor, bearings, and fan. And gave two recommendations for their system, 1. Replace Single Run Capacitor 2. Remove, clean, and reinstall the indoor fan assembly to ensure proper airflow and air quality in the HVAC system, along with replacing the single run capacitor.
